Apparel, home textiles, bags and industrial products each place different demands on fabric performance. Amber evaluates suitable finishing routes according to fabric construction, fiber content, end use, target market and test standard, then verifies the result through sampling and testing.
DEFINE PERFORMANCE BY END USE
The right treatment can give a base fabric water repellency, UV protection, moisture management, flame retardancy, anti-static properties or easier care, helping the finished product perform in its intended environment.
The same finish can behave differently across fibers, constructions, weights and dyeing conditions. Amber first identifies the performance problem to solve, then balances function, hand feel, wash durability, cost and production feasibility.
Every finish should serve a real product requirement.
EIGHT FUNCTIONAL AND SURFACE DIRECTIONS
These are common development directions. Achievable values, wash durability and applicable standards must be confirmed against the actual fabric and test results.
For outdoor clothing, workwear, bags, rainwear and selected home textiles, we assess water-repellent, waterproof, coating or lamination routes while balancing protection and moisture-vapor transfer.
Designed for products exposed to perspiration, moisture or hygiene requirements. The chemistry, fiber content and required wash cycles all affect the result.
Fabric density, fiber, weight, color, dyeing and finishing are evaluated together to improve UV protection, with UPF testing arranged to the project requirement.
Fiber choice, construction and finishing work together to absorb moisture, move it outward and accelerate evaporation for a drier wearing experience.
Flame-retardant performance depends on fiber, construction, weight, finishing process, wash cycles and the target standard. Sample testing is required before bulk production.
Depending on the application, anti-static finishing, conductive fibers, yarn engineering or construction changes can improve static behavior. Technical projects are developed to the specified standard.
Reduces post-wash creasing and improves dimensional stability and appearance retention while balancing hand feel, breathability and comfort.
Softening, brushing, peaching, raising, calendering, coating, lamination and specialty finishes can refine touch, luster, perceived thickness and drape.

Define the function, target value, test method, wash durability and destination market.
Select an executable process based on fiber, construction, weight and existing performance.
Finish a trial or sample length to confirm hand feel, appearance and functional direction.
Test to the project requirement and assess stability and potential trade-offs.
Begin bulk dyeing and finishing after the sample, technical conditions and test route are approved.
TEST, DO NOT ASSUME
A functional name cannot replace an actual test. Fiber, construction, weight, dyeing, finishing formula, wash cycles and test method can all change the result.
All functional claims must be based on the actual sample and final test report.
